[I started photography in June 2009. At the time, I was searching for a way to express both the rigorous scientist and the creative artist in me. There are few hobbies that let these two approaches work together, so I really was enthusiastic about it: I am now spending all my free time studying various techniques, contemplating others' fantastic work, and of course, making pictures.
While some use a camera as a tool to capture a moment of life or showing the world as it is, I am mostly using it as a way to communicate ideas through carefully studied and created setups. I am not afraid of strong edits, as long as they serve a purpose: the resulting image and its impact is the most important to me, whatever the path taken to create it. Conceptual photography and surrealism is what I currently enjoy the most]. – Christophe Kiciak
